The Mission Outreach Committee and the Vestry met last summer and held extensive discussions on the role of the committee. (See Fall 2011 Reflections) The committee seeks to find opportunities where our parish community can help and be of service locally, nationally, and internationally. In the past, the committee has coordinated parish efforts to assist with projects in Iraq, Darfur, and New Orleans after Katrina. It currently maintains communication with and supports financially our partner parish in Haiti. We have recently sent $800 to support teacher salaries at its school.
In sum, the committee is a conduit for parish activity that reaches out to the broader community. In weeks to come we will highlight projects that Mission Outreach currently supports or has given substantial assistance to in the past, either directly or through the participation of many members of our parish community. In the meantime, we want to hear from you about areas of need that the people of St. Margaret’s can help fill. Please call John Arrison at 338-4605, or email him at:firstname.lastname@example.org
. Or talk to one of the current members of the committee: Alden Johnson, Joan Clemons, Susie Kraeger, Mary Rackmales, Juliet Baker, Cipperly Good, Mary Ann Whaley, Ed Williams (seasonal), and Tom Duplessie.
