Start thinking Italian
Twenty-four parishioners and guests dined on Russian Borsch, Beef Stroganoff, Mimosa salad, Pelmeni dumplings, Strawberries Romanoff and a dozen other dishes at the May 12th Global Cuisine Potluck. After dinner, the Rev. Dick Bamforth of Augusta entertained us with a slide show and lecture.
The June potluck supper will feature Italian foods. Elaine Bielenberg is in charge. Recipes from “A Taste of Tuscany” are now on the Time and Talent Table in the Parish Hall: Panzanella ( a bread and tomato salad), Pappa col Pomodoro (a bread and tomato soup), Pollo con Le Olive (fried chicken with olives), Cinghiale in Agrodolce (boar –or pork — in sweet and sour sauce), Cavolo Sulle Fette (Tuscan or lacinto kale and garlic on toast), Fagiolo All’Uccelletto ( cannellini beans with sage and tomato). Dessert recipes will appear later. Help yourself to any of the recipes or bring a favorite of your own for others to try.
Please sign up and list what you might bring so we can have as varied a menu as possible. Dinner will be at 6. Bring your own beverages and bring along a friend or two, especially those who might like to contribute a special dish to the table. As always, non-cooks are welcome to help clean up.
