Australia’s favorites next month
The desserts favored by Australians and New Zealanders sound terrific. Check the recipes in the folder in the Parish Hall and you’ll see. St. Margaret’s next Global Cuisine Potluck will be Saturday, June 8.
How about this list for a little inspiration: Roasted Beet and Mango Salad, Grilled Asparagus and Macadamia Nut Salad, Shrimp with Mango-Lime Mayonnaise, BBQ Kiwifruit Lamb Kebabs, Downunder Cheese Puffs, Tuna and Sweet Potato Patties, Lemon Pepper and Mustard Baked Mahi Mahi, Australian Style Hamburger, New Zealand Pavlova Dessert, Banana Spring Rolls, Aussie Lime Pie, Lamingtons (a coconut and chocolate covered sweet).
There are limited copies of these recipes. Take your favorite or look up a few more on one of the New Zealand food websites. Please put your name and dish on the sign-up sheet this month. We want to be sure sufficient St. Margaret’s parishioners will be participating since we’ve invited the men from the Re-entry Center to be our guests. Look for the “Pavlova” on the cover.
