Interfaith Fuel Fund Strawberry Shortcake Fundraiser – we need you!!
Did you know that the Interfaith Fuel Fund run by the Greater Belfast Area Ministerium (GBAM) gave out 38 grants totaling $13,640 in emergency fuel aid last winter? The need is great and here’s a chance to build up the fund before next winter.
Five GBAM churches (including ours) are joining together in a fund-raiser for the IFF at the Arts in the Park festival July 13 and 14 at Heritage Park. We’re going to have a booth selling iced tea and fresh strawberry shortcakes topped with whipped cream. Nearly all of the supplies and ingredients are being donated and all proceeds will go to the IFF.
How can you help? Here’s how:
- Can you help clean and process some 60 pounds of strawberries that will be picked by Re-entry Center volunteers? The work will be done at St. Margaret’s Church in early July. If you’re interested, please contact Tom Duplessie at email@example.com or 505-5640 by June 28. Give him your name and phone number and he will call you when the strawberries have arrived!
- Can you take a shift with members of other GBAM churches at our booth? We need six volunteers from our church – one each at two-hour shifts on Saturday July 13 and Sunday July 14: 10 a.m. to Noon, Noon to 2 p.m., and 2 to 4 p.m. We hope to mix up volunteers from all five churches so we can get to know each other better while doing good! If you can take a shift, please sign up on the sheet on the Time & Talent Table or email Chris at firstname.lastname@example.org
