Strawberries for Fuel

We and four other GBAM churches will  be selling delicious strawberry shortcakes with freshly whipped cream during the Arts in the Park festival on July 13 and 14. The shortcakes were all baked by students in the Culinary Arts Program of the Waldo County Technical Center. The strawberries picked by volunteers and some of the men from the Re-Entry Center. The booth will be manned by volunteers from the five participating churches. All we need is for you to come to buy and eat!

The Interfaith Fuel Fund run by the Greater Bay Area Ministerium of Waldo County (GBAM) gave out 38 grants totaling $13,640 in emergency fuel aid to Waldo County residents last winter. The need is great and St. Margaret’s, St. Francis, United Methodist Church, First Church UCC and the UU church are joining together in a fund-raiser to build up the fund for the IFF at the Arts in the Park festival July 13 and 14 at Heritage Park.

Nearly all of the supplies and ingredients are being donated and all proceeds will go to the IFF for next winter’s needs. Donations will also be gladly accepted.
