Special Activities Planned by Outreach Mission

The committee is planning the following special activities through the end of October:

WALK FOR MS, Saturday, September 28th, registration 9 a.m. Front Street Pub, Belfast. Walk begins at 10. Support the St. Margaret’s MS Walkers by making a donation on-line or by contributing to one of our team members: Cipperly Good, Juliet Baker, or Mary Rackmales. Better yet, join the team! Register early on-line and help raise funds from friends and family to fight this devastating disease.

Trip to H.O.M.E., Orland. October date to be announced. H.O.M.E. (Homemakers Organized for More Employment) was founded over 30 years ago to help women in the Bucksport/Ellsworth area increase their income and keep their families together. Today women, men, and children work together on the farm, the sawmill, the bakery, the kitchen, providing for their own needs as well as for the homeless and anyone who needs a hand up.

Talk by Hospice, Monday, October 14th, 5 p.m. (before the next Mission Outreach Meeting). We may all think we know what Hospice is all about, but Hospice Volunteers of Waldo County do much more than attend to the needs of dying individuals and their families. Come hear about its many facets and how we may be involved.
