TUTORS SOUGHT for new program at Troy Howard
TUTORS SOUGHT for St. Margaret’s Reading-Writing and Math Labs at the Troy-Howard Middle School. The Outreach Committee and parish volunteers have invented a program to help twelve, thirteen, and fourteen year-olds at the Troy-Howard Middle School succeed in in their studies and gain academic confidence. Between 10:30 and noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays (math) and Wednesdays and Fridays (reading-writing) members of the St. Margaret’s tutoring team will meet with students in the Troy-Howard library to help with school work. In a school where eighty percent of students come from low-income or working-poor families, this kind of investment in academic success is invaluable.
We need tutors in math, reading and English composition. Those parishioners who have basic knowledge of these subjects are encouraged to offer their services. For more information call Susie Kraeger (322-5013), Juliet Baker (338-4228) or Charlotte Herbold (338-5019). Please come forward as quickly as possible because we are eager to begin.
