The bishop is coming! The bishop is coming!
Pull out your favorite cookbooks — especially the French ones — because we want to provide a feast. The bishop is coming to our next Global Cuisine Potluck and we want to show off our wonderful congregation and all our talents. The date is Saturday, April 11. The Lavenders will tell us all about their excursion to Paris and Provence: all they saw, ate and tasted… and about the wine they brought home.
On the Time and Talent Table you will find a few favorite recipes from the potluck committee and at least one, “Daube de Boeuf Provencal,” from Leslie and Michael’s kitchen. One recipe is for “the very best French Onion Soup Recipe ever” according to a member of the committee. Another is a time-consuming but simply delicious Pâté de Campagne made with pork, ham, chicken livers, ground bay, thyme, garlic, shallots, heavy cream and cognac. A heart-stopper literally and figuratively, but not to be missed.
We invite you to slip a favorite recipe into the folder, too, just to see if maybe someone else will try yours. Challenge us!
Please put this party on your calendar. Bring the whole family. And don’t forget to bring your own beverages. We dine at 6. Non-cooks are welcome to bring ice cream or help us clean up.
