Potluck supper on Saturday
Our Global Cuisine Potluck once again comes with a show. Tomorrow when we gather to try Laotian dishes ( or whatever else our parish chefs decide to cook and share ), we will also be treated to a travelogue of Laos by Chris and Dennis Urick. Don’t miss it.
If you are still considering what to cook, consider making a green papaya salad or a noodle soup flavored with ginger and lemongrass. You might grill skewers of pork or chicken flavored with herbs. Recipes are on line. Or you might like to slice up a few tropical fruits. At the end of a meal, Laotians often serve mango, pineapple or dragon fruit. You might try bananas in coconut cream. A pint of ginger or coconut ice cream would be a perfect dessert.
Whatever you decide to contribute, please remember to invite a friend or two. Don’t forget your own beverages. Dinner is at 6. If your dish needs to be reheated or assembled, come a bit earlier.
