God Loves a Cheerful Giver
This week I especially want to thank our Vestry for their dedicated and faithful service. Vestry members did a great deal of work preparing for each agenda item through research, conversations, prayer, and work. Then the Vestry discussed items, voted on the necessary ones, and took action.
I was particularly heartened at Tuesday’s Vestry meeting. Hard work was done through conversations that were not always easy. Communication remained respectful. At the end of the evening, we gathered around the altar for Compline, as is our custom. No matter the topic or differing viewpoints, we always gather together for prayer.
We have some upcoming needs. Please contact the office if you have the following skills, education, or desire to serve:
- Languages (please specify)
- Graduate or professional experience in liturgy
- Buildings and grounds
- Pastoral care
- Eucharistic Visitation
The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
