God Loves a Cheerful Giver
This week I especially want to thank those who bring the sacraments to homebound and hospitalized parishioners, extending the celebration of Eucharist at the altar to all members of our parish.
Currently Deacon Tom and Faye Ward are licensed for Eucharistic Visitation and the Rev. John Miller shares Eucharist at a service at Harbor Hill. We have a goal of creating six pairs of Eucharistic Visitors so each member of the parish is offered communion at least twice a month.
The diocese is in the process of updating Eucharistic Visitation training. We may get started, however, by completing the Safe Church Training located on the Episcopal Diocese of Maine website. Please let Deacon Tom or Christopher+ know if you want to share in this ministry.
We have some additional needs. Please contact the office if you have the following skills, education, or desire to serve:
- Languages (please specify)
- Graduate or professional experience in liturgy
- Buildings and grounds
- Pastoral care
- Occasional office support and data entry
The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
