Thank you, everyone, for being so hospitable when people first attend St. Margaret’s. As many of you know, I spend a great deal of time out in the community as a way of reaching people who have less or no connection to a faith community.
Last Sunday afternoon a woman, who had attended the second liturgy with her friend, approached me. She said that it was their first time at St. Margaret’s. I let her know that the 1552 Puritan service was not typical. She smiled, said that she had gathered that, and that she and her friend would attend again soon. They had felt very welcomed at St. Margaret’s.
Your greetings to newcomers, friendliness, invitations to join the coffee social, and welcome make a difference. Thank you!
We have some additional needs. Please contact the office if you have the following skills, education, or desire to serve:
* Labyrinth – contact Jesse Paquin if you want to be involved. Jesse and Alison moved for his new job in South Boston. Jesse is committed to remaining in leadership with this and is looking for someone to partner with for needs that arise during the week e.g. obtaining a permit if the parish and vestry commit to creating the labyrinth.
* Mailing list removals – Calls to companies to remove names of past rectors and unnecessary parish mailings. This will help by removing distractions from the work we need to do and will benefit the environment.
The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
