St. Margaret’s this summer is starting a long-term “to-do” list – a capital budget – and we need your ideas. We are calling this effort Daring Faith – because we dare you to share your ideas for specific projects, mundane or grand, that would cost money but may be wonderful ways for us to grow.
We will continue to draw up annual “operating” budgets that start on Jan. 1, and we will continue to present all sorts of stewardship opportunities. But a capital budget is different. It’s longer term – say, five years – and it allows the Vestry to make choices. For example, when we are planning our 2017 budget this fall, a capital budget will help us decide which new initiatives make the most sense for 2017 – and which might need to wait until 2018 and so on.
You will hear more about this in the coming weeks. We will provide cards that will enable you to share your ideas. We will set up a table during coffee hour to help with your questions. And in the fall we will share the results.
We are excited to make this dare – to you!
