SHOP AT HANNAFORD AND MAKE MONEY FOR ST. MARGARET’S!
We have a plan to raise extra $$ for St. Margaret’s in a relatively painless way!
This is how it works: We all shop at Hannaford – right? While we are shopping, St. Margaret’s can make $50 on every $1000 worth of Hannaford shopping cards that we sell. The cards can then be used to purchase anything that Hannaford sells. This might not sound like much, but it can easily add up. The cards are used like any other gift card; any balance from your purchase remains on the card until it is exhausted. When you have spent the value of your card (or if you foresee it running out in the immediate future), please purchase another one during coffee hour on the next Sunday. Cynthia Zajac, who has graciously agreed to administer this program, will be selling cards every Sunday during coffee hour.
Our goal is to start selling Hannaford cards during coffee hour on February 12. We will have cards in $50 and $100 denominations and request that you make your checks payable to St. Margaret’s with “Hannaford card” in the memo line.
As we explained at the Annual Meeting last Sunday, this is a popular fundraising program used by many churches and other non-profits. It will just take a little adjustment and getting used to purchasing and using these cards instead of using cash or your debit or credit cards. Please do not reload your cards, as St. Margaret’s only receives credit when we purchase the cards in bulk; for administrative purposes we will be issuing new cards each time rather than re-loading them.
We are hoping for support and help from everyone in making this fundraising effort work.
