A German dinner
If you haven’t already picked out your recipe, you will find a dozen or more on this Saveur magazine website: http://www.saveur.com/tags/german-recipes. Just the names of the dishes described will make you hungry to try the recipes provided: cider-braised red cabbage, roast duck with plums, sauerbraten, German rum-preserved fruit, avocado and apple tartare with fried walnut dimplings, German chocolate cake, nutty chocolate bark with cardamom and coffee.
Dinner is at 6. Come a bit earlier if your dish needs to be reheated or assembled. Remember to bring your own beverages. And do invite a friend or two. They will have a great time.
