St. Margaret’s Global Cuisine Potluck on Saturday, March 18, will not be just a series of Irish soda breads and corned beef and cabbage preparations. We are going to think outside the box. Any dish is welcome, of course, but if you want to stick to the theme of Irish cuisine, we’ve got some ideas for you. Try visiting this website:
Here’s an idea of what you will find there: bangers and mash, broiled steak with whiskey sauce, steak and Guinness pie, mini shepherds’ pies, Irish Cream bundt cake, Dublin coddle ( a soupy pork and potato stew in cider), shamrock salad ( no hints, look it up), and Bailey’s Irish cream chocolate Cheesecake. And dozens more.
Last week’s German cuisine potluck drew 12 diners, an array of potato dishes, some great sausages and an unusual creation of crepe-wrapped sauerkraut. There were, alas, no desserts! So consider that bundt cake. Dinner will be at 6.
