Vestry Highlights – October 2017
The Vestry met on Tuesday, October 10th. Among other matters, it took the following actions:
Received the Treasurer’s report of the parish’s financial status through September 30, 2017, which continues to be satisfactory.
Approved spending $1500 to complete painting of the eaves and rafters on the parish house.
Discussed the Vestry nomination process. Nomination forms will be in the pamphlet and on-line in November.
Approved an amended constitution and by-laws to be sent to the Chancellor of the Diocese for approval. The proposed changes bring the constitution and by-laws in line with canon law and reflect our current practices. After being cleared by the Chancellor, it will be presented at the annual meeting for parish approval.
Discussed implementation of the Year of Nurture. Vestry members volunteered to research and bring forward ideas in the following areas to be discussed at the November Vestry meeting: Christian education for adults, pastoral care, music and worship, prayer, forgiveness, stewardship, outreach, finance, fruitful retirement.
