Women of St. Margaret’s
The Women’s Group meet on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. from September through June. Usually there is a speaker following the business portion of the meeting, and there are always refreshments!
If you are female, and come to St. Margaret’s (even stepped a foot through the door!) you are a part of this group! They are very active and participate in most of the fundraising and fellowship activities within the parish.
- For many years they have held a Tea and Bake Sale event, which also includes a silent auction, refurbished jewelry boutique, and cookbook sale which raises in excess of $1500 to be given to two or three needy organizations.
- KnitMaine-ia, a fashion show featuring a fantastic variety of hand knitted and crocheted garments and accessories. The show is a fun, creative, colorful and inspiring event and raised money for New Hope for Women.
- In 2010 they had a hugely successful Vintage Bridal Gown Show. In the future, a Vintage Garment show is being planned together with the Belfast Historical Society.
